Lauri Wade's Woven Together with HCM Fundraiser
$500 Raised
When larger systems fall short, neighbors step forward.
Across Louisville, more of our neighbors are facing impossible choices. Older adults are waiting for meals. Families are struggling to keep up with rent, utilities, and groceries. Public support is becoming less certain at the very moment local need is growing.
At Highlands Community Ministries, we believe a safety net is not just a program or a policy. It is people.
It is the volunteer delivering meals to an older adult who lives alone. It is the donor who helps a family stay housed after an unexpected crisis. It is the neighbor who makes sure the pantry shelves are stocked. It is the community that says, “You are not alone.”
This Give for Good Louisville, your gift helps HCM respond where the need is greatest. That may mean meals for older adults, groceries for families, help with rent or utilities, or care for a neighbor who does not know where else to turn.
The safety net is only strong when we hold it together.
Make your gift today and be part of the care our neighbors are counting on.
We are the safety net. And you can be, too.
Barbara, a retired nurse, came to HCM after losing her job due to health issues. We helped her with rent and food. Today, she’s back on her feet -- managing a wound care unit -- and donates personal care items to give back.
Jane, a single mother, was hospitalized and fell behind on rent. She debated returning to work early, despite doctor’s orders, just to avoid eviction. Our support allowed her to rest, recover, and stay housed with her children.
John, now a history professor, relied on wraparound support from HCM during times of crisis. He credits the stability he received for helping him pursue his dreams.

Help us raise $45,000 to strengthen the safety net in our neighborhood. Whether you give $10 or $100, your donation is a thread in the tapestry of care we’re weaving together.
Give now and know that if you are ever in need, your neighbors will be here for you, too.
