Who We Are

Home of the Innocents enriches the lives of children and families with hope, health, and happiness. Through a variety of residential, skilled nursing, and community programs, nearly 4,000 youth and families begin journeys that deliver lasting joy and stability each year. One of those children is Olivia, whose time in our Garden Group has given her a new sense of confidence and curiosity.

Olivia's Story: Growing Hope

Olivia arrived at the Home feeling anxious, distracted, and not sure what each day would bring. After a few weeks in our Residential Treatment program, she opened up and began seeking more chances to engage with her peers and stay active. Our team pointed her to our Garden Group, who cares for a variety of flowers, plants, and vegetables in the Home’s backyard. Although Olivia hadn’t gardened before, she rolled up her sleeves and eagerly joined them.

Since then, Olivia has grown more than sunflowers and radishes—she's cultivated a mindset that encourages her to try new things and continue building community. Today, she’s a core member of the Garden Group and has even learned carpentry skills to build a plant table.
