Together, we strengthened, supported, and empowered immigrant and refugee communities throughout Louisville, Kentucky, through programs that promote education, mental health, employment, community connection, and long-term success.

Here's a look at some of the incredible work your support made possible this year:

Refugee Health Promotion

Through the Refugee Health Promotion program, 382 neighbors gained the knowledge and confidence to access care. Sessions demystify appointments, prescriptions, and preventive routines while creating circles of trust where participants can name stress, grief, and hope.

The result is not only better navigation of the health system, but also a steady shift from crisis to proactive well-being for entire families.

English Language Training

131 adult learners advanced from basic phrases to the everyday language of work, school, and community.

Instruction blends practical vocabulary with real-life scenarios: speaking to a teacher, calling a landlord, and interviewing for a job so that every lesson translates immediately into confidence and independence.

Our classrooms become social anchors that reduce isolation, foster belonging, and strengthen resilience. Learners don't just study English; they connect with neighbors, access opportunities, and rebuild a sense of agency and hope.

Youth Mentoring

76 teens are paired with mentors who listen first and lift consistently. Weekly gatherings build friendship and leadership; campus visits and career exploration transform possibilities into plans.

As teens practice goal-setting, time management, and service, they develop the confidence and social capital to thrive in school and beyond.

Your investment expands mentoring circles, provides safe transportation, and funds enrichment experiences that open eyes and doors.

Digital Literacy

Twenty participants received the hardware, skills, and confidence to function in a digital world, applying for jobs, communicating with schools, and accessing online services.

With partners like the Kentucky Colonels, the program is scaling so that more learners can log on to opportunity without barriers.

Employment Services

189 clients secured meaningful work through personalized coaching, resume and interview preparation, employer partnerships, and multilingual support.

The focus is long-term success: matching skills to roles, smoothing the first critical month with transit assistance, and coaching on workplace culture so new hires and employers thrive together.

Your support fuels job readiness sessions, employer outreach, and practical supports that make the first paycheck a gateway to stability.

Services to Older Refugees

See Forward's Services to Older Refugees program currently serves 49 older adults as they navigate healthcare, pursue citizenship, and build stronger connections within their communities.

Through individualized support, community health workers help participants access medical care, prepare for citizenship exams, and connect with essential resources that promote independence and well-being.

Weekly gatherings provide opportunities to learn about healthy aging, stay physically active, strengthen social connections, and reduce isolation while fostering a greater sense of belonging and community.

See Forward Ministries is a bridge whereby US Citizens will intentionally meet to learn about other cultures and be given a platform to support and guide refugees and immigrants as they thrive toward reaching their highest potential.

$25 will cover the hourly rate for a translator

$30 will cover hourly rate for an ELT (English Language Training) teacher 

$100 will cover 5-hour pay for a bus driver  

$120 will support someone with a ride to work for a month 

$500 will cover our monthly utility bill
