We believe every young person has a story worth telling. By removing financial barriers and providing access to professional equipment, mentors, and opportunities, Upcoming Storytellers helps ensure that talent—not circumstance—determines who gets the chance to create.

Upcoming Storytellers is a Louisville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering the next generation of storytellers through hands-on education in filmmaking, photography, podcasting, and digital media.

Our mission is to prepare young people for careers in the creative industries by providing free, real-world learning experiences that build technical skills, confidence, and professional connections. Through mentorship from working industry professionals, students don't just learn about media—they create it.

Throughout our programs, students work together to develop ideas, write scripts, operate professional cameras and audio equipment, direct productions, edit their own projects, and premiere their finished work for the community. Along the way, they gain valuable experience in collaboration, leadership, communication, and creative problem-solving.

Your support helps provide scholarships, equipment, transportation, meals, industry mentors, and year-round programming, giving more young people the opportunity to discover their voice and build a future through storytelling.
