I started my first "professional" job (sorry Y and Blockbuster) in 2004. I was a bright eyed employment specialist at CAL. I came to the job with no experience and friends telling me that finding jobs for disabled people "might be a really tough job." Twenty two years and many successful placements later, I still love the place it all started. That's CAL.
I am part of the independent living movement regardless of official status, although I happen to also currently be the Chair of the Board of Directors of CAL. I believe in the Mission. I believe in the Staff. I believe in a more accessible future.
It's CAL's 45th Anniversary and I'm fundraising for Give for Good Louisville (also benefits Lexington, Murray, & Bowling Green).
All donations are welcome, but I'm looking for 24 people (my age starting as an employee - and the highest number for Mr. Show fans) to donate $45 (for the anniversary).
Donations support free, lightly use medical equipment, Medicaid Case Management, Ramps, Advocacy, Independent Living Skills, information and referral, housing, peer groups, AT, etc. Thank you for your generosity!
