Students in our Sounds of Kentucky After-School String Band are learning guitar alongside mandolin and banjo, building musical skills, learning to play with others, and discovering their own place in Kentucky’s musical traditions.

To keep music accessible to everyone, the Louisville Folk School provides instruments free of charge for every student involved.

Drop a $10 bill in the guitar bucket! Every gift adds up, and $200 puts a new guitar directly into a student’s hands.
