I believe one of the best investments we can make is in the potential of the next generation.
Throughout my career in accounting and financial leadership, I have learned the importance of being intentional about where we invest our time, resources, and energy. Numbers can tell us a lot, but behind every organization, every community, and every opportunity are people. That is why I believe success should also be measured by the difference we are able to make in the lives of others.
Education has been an important part of my own journey, both professionally and personally. Continuing to learn and grow has opened doors for me, strengthened my leadership, and reminded me that access to knowledge can create opportunities that may not have existed otherwise. I want young people in our community to have that same opportunity to learn, grow, and discover what they are capable of achieving.
That is what makes the mission of I Would Rather Be Reading so meaningful to me. Literacy is one of the most important foundations a child can have. Strong reading skills can impact how a student performs in school, how confidently they communicate, and how they begin to imagine their future.
I also believe that leadership comes with an opportunity to use your relationships, experiences, and voice to support causes that strengthen the community around you. When we connect people to organizations doing meaningful work, we can help their impact reach even further.
