South End Community Market Inc

The South End Community Market (SECM) is a free, family-friendly farmers market held every Saturday from May through October at Iroquois Park.  What started as a grassroots, volunteer-built market has quickly become a South End tradition, with close to 10,000 visits last season and a growing community of vendors and supporters. Each week, more than 400 people come out to shop with local farmers, food producers, artists, makers, and small businesses, enjoy live music and free activities, visit with community organizations, or simply spend a Saturday morning with their neighbors.

We love the South End, and this Market is one way we get to show it! South Louisville is one of the most diverse parts of our city, and we believe that diversity is something to celebrate. We are committed to creating a Market where people of different cultures, backgrounds, ages, identities, abilities, and experiences feel welcome, represented, and part of the community. That commitment is reflected not only in who comes through our gates, but in the farmers, makers, artists, small businesses, musicians, and community organizations we invite to be part of SECM.

Most of our Board members, vendors, volunteers, and partners live or work right here in South Louisville, and we are proud of what this community has built together. We’ve watched neighbors meet and become friends, families make the Market part of their Saturday routine, and local entrepreneurs turn an idea into something bigger, including two vendors who have gone on to open brick-and-mortar businesses in the South End. Our roots are firmly planted in South Louisville, but everyone is welcome here! We want people from across the city to come experience the food, talent, cultures, creativity, and community spirit that make the South End such a special part of Louisville.
