Pit Bulls of St. Francis

A nonprofit organization

PBSF Dog Rescue came into existence 8 years ago this month because one individual had a heart of gold and a desire to make a difference. The dogs we rescue are normally at a high risk of death via humane euthanasia or worse. Our dogs include severe medical cases, pregnant moms, and abandoned litters; our dogs come from all over Kentucky.

We have a front row seat to the animal crisis in our city due to the overpopulation of dogs and people rehoming their pet. This led us to implement a program to assist with spaying/neutering owned dogs and providing food to local food banks throughout Louisville. Our hope is by providing these services the number of unwanted litters will decrease and people will be able to keep their pets versus having to surrender due to economical reasons.

We are a small foster based rescue ran by volunteers. We do not have any paid positions - every dollar donated goes to our mission. All of us have full time jobs, families and normal life obligations - yet we put our hears and souls into this rescue every day. We are committed to saving as many dogs as possible. Your donation will allow us to continue our commitment.

Who We Are

Pit Bulls of St. Francis is a 501(c)3, nonprofit all-breed dog rescue based in Louisville, Kentucky. We pull high-risk dogs from high-kill shelters in order to give them a second chance at a wonderful life. Our goal is to lower shelter intake by rehabbing and finding amazing forever homes for dogs in need.

Pit Bulls of St. Francis exists completely on volunteers and fosters. we do not have a facility, so the number of dogs we can save is reliant on how many fosters we have. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a foster, email us at pitbullsofstfrancis@gmail.com or send us a DM on Facebook.
