The film industry is growing in Louisville—and KyCAD is building the creative talent to grow with it.

Our new Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film gives students the opportunity to learn filmmaking by actually making films. From the first day of class, students are in creative control: writing, directing, producing, shooting, and editing their own work while developing a distinct artistic voice.

But great filmmaking takes more than imagination. It takes equipment.

Through Give for Good Louisville, we’re raising funds to equip KyCAD’s Film program with the professional tools students need to bring their stories to life—from cameras and lighting equipment to sound and editing technology.

From Classroom to Set

KyCAD’s Film program is being built for a city with an increasingly vibrant film ecosystem. With $75 million in state film incentives and new sound stages planned in Louisville by 2028, opportunities for filmmakers are expanding right here in our community.

Our students will have the chance to connect with local filmmakers, festivals, cultural institutions, and film organizations to gain real-world experience through internships and work on local productions.

This is filmmaking with Louisville as the backdrop—and the industry as the classroom.
