In 2004, I was given the incredible privilege of serving on a dental mission trip to Ghana. Southeast Christian Church sent Dr. Charlie Vittitow, myself, my best friend Lisa, and another dental assistant named Sharon. Our mission was to train local pastors in basic dentistry, including extractions, administering anesthetic, and filling teeth. Using a backpack dental chair designed by Itec, we were able to serve in areas where dental care was almost nonexistent.

The goal was simple yet powerful: to equip these pastors to meet physical needs, relieve pain, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through this training, God empowered these men and opened doors into communities and regions they had never been able to reach before because they were now able to minister to both physical and spiritual needs. In 2006, mPower Approach was founded by Dr. Vittitow to empower indigenous believers with the tools and training needed to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Today, I am humbled and grateful to share that God has called me back to this ministry that I have loved for so many years. On June 1st, I became the Executive Director of mPower Approach, working alongside Dr. Charlie Vittitow, our President. It is still hard for me to comprehend that God has allowed us to serve together again after first ministering side by side all those years ago. I am excited to see what God has in store and the incredible ways He will continue expanding the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
