Who We Are

No Kill Louisville, established on April 22, 2010, is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to the rescue and betterment of homeless animals and to ensure pets are provided food when their owners are having a hard time feeding their pets. Our vision is to foster a no-kill community where every adoptable pet finds a loving home. We advance this aim by endorsing adoption, spaying/neutering, and responsible pet care. Collaborating with local shelters, rescue groups, and volunteers, we offer resources, education, and support. We champion the humane treatment of animals, increase awareness of pet overpopulation, and strive to decrease euthanasia rates locally.

Our initiatives include a pet food bank, affordable spay/neuter services, and foster/adoption programs. We trust in community engagement and invite participation through volunteering, fostering, or donations to aid our life-saving missions. Our goal is to cultivate a caring community that respects and safeguards all animal lives. With unwavering commitment and cooperative endeavors, we endeavor to positively influence animal welfare in the Louisville region.

#GivingTuesday Helps

"Keep the Dream Alive"

This #GivingTuesday 2024, No Kill Louisville asks for your help to "Keep the Dream Alive." Every Dollar raised during this Campaign will support essential services like medical care, shelter, food supplies, and the many resources our community needs to help prevent pet homelessness.

Because of caring individuals like you, No Kill Louisville has made strides that were once unimaginable. This year alone, No Kill Louisville has rescued, adopted out, provided veterinary care, food and supplies for over 400 animals! Your support is the heartbeat behind these achievements.

Pet Food Bank

No Kill Louisville hosts the longest running pet food bank in Louisville, Kentucky. We run solely on donated food/items and volunteer hours. We serve an average of 100 clients per food bank.  The goal of the Pet Food Bank is to ensure pets are provided food when their owners are having a hard time feeding their pets. It has been proven the more pet owners are assisted in providing and caring for their pets during those rocky times, the less animals are turned over to county shelters and pounds where the future of pets' lives is unknown. It is our hope No Kill Louisville is just that. . . a Louisville where no animal is euthanized for lack of food or a home.

Spay and Neuter Services

No Kill Louisville works with other rescues, veterinarians and organizations to help provide clients with free or low cost spay and neuter services for their pets. These services also include vaccinations, along with flea and tick treatments.

Foster And Adoption Services

Fostering homeless animals is a significant way to impact the lives of those in need. It offers a chance to be a hero and save lives. Fosters improve the world by providing a lifeline to these animals. By welcoming a foster animal into your home and heart, you offer them a secure and nurturing space during a pivotal time. Such acts of kindness can be the critical difference between life and death for these vulnerable beings. Fostering animals affords them a second chance at a joyful, healthy life. Many find themselves in shelters due to misfortune, amidst constant noise and unfamiliar faces. Fostering provides a respite from this turmoil, allowing them to process their experiences in tranquility. It's a chance for healing, rebuilding trust, and unlocking their full potential.

Donate And Volunteer

You too can help us save the lives of pets in our local community. Your donations help provide basic and specialized medical care to animals in our foster/adoption program. They also help cover the cost to operate our monthly Pet Food Bank, where we provide struggling families with supplemental pet food and supplies. Your donations also help fund free and low cost spay/neuter surgeries.  All animals helped through the No Kill Louisville Programs are spayed or neutered.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities, from assisting at our Pet Food Bank to hosting booths.  Volunteers are immensely important and help us grow!
