Since its founding, 2NOT1 has empowered fathers to grow as parents, mentors, and partners in co-parenting. With the tools, training, and support they receive, fathers become more engaged and active in their children’s lives, strengthening families and communities.

The heart of Founder Shawn Gardner’s vision was best expressed by his then six-year-old daughter. After hearing the 2NOT1 Advisory Chair share her story of growing up without a father, she cried out in disbelief, “You don’t have a father!” In her innocence, she revealed the very hope that drives 2NOT1 that no child should ever have to imagine life without a father.

2NOT1 envisions a future where every child grows up with the love, presence, and guidance of both parents, working together to nurture healthy development into adulthood.
