The Parklands is a public park system spanning over 4,000 acres across four distinct parks — Beckley Creek, Pope Lick, Turkey Run, and Broad Run — along the scenic Floyds Fork waterway. Open 365 days a year and free to enter, The Parklands welcomes nearly 4 million visits annually, offering a place to explore, unwind, learn, and connect.

With more than 80 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and paddling — plus playgrounds, spraygrounds, an archery range, a mountain bike park, and more — there’s something for everyone. ADA-accessible fishing lakes, paved paths, and facilities ensure that people of all abilities can enjoy the outdoors.

But The Parklands is more than just a place to play. It’s a space for year-round learning through school field trips, community events, and hands-on programs designed to inspire curiosity and care for the natural world. From providing scholarships for underserved students to protecting native habitats and wildlife, our mission is rooted in connection — to nature, and to each other.
