Help Us Give Hope to More Unwanted Pets
Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aids in the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of homeless pets from area shelters. Many of these pets are in danger of losing their lives due to overcrowding. We are an all-volunteer group, and 100% of your donations go toward their medical care and social needs as they await their "furever" homes. We are based in Oldham County, yet we spread a wide net. We accept animals from all over, with a focus on supporting Eastern KY, and adopt out to over a 200-mile radius.
Behind each successful pet adoption also is a "people" side to the story. Everyone's life is affected when a match is made, and Adopt Me! works hard to find that perfect "fit." Since our inception in November of 2014, we have placed over 4,000 companion animals with committed, loving homes.

You can help us celebrate our upcoming 11th anniversary by providing hope to more pets in need of rescue. To get these animals healthy - both physically and emotionally - is often an expensive journey. Even small donations will help with our expenses. Below are examples of what your donations can do for the rescue.
$25 - canine vaccinations
$50 - 30 pound bag of dog food
$75 - canine flea and tick preventatives for one month
$100 - catico cat enclosure
$125 - 48-inch wire crate
$150+ - Full up-front vetting for a rescue animal
$250 - Utilities for one week at the Adoption Center
IT'S WHAT WE DO
Family Companion Pets - To date, we have placed over 4,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens with loving families. It's often a multi-step process to get these homeless animals back to good health. Strays are never in perfect condition. Some require extensive and expensive medical care. Once back to health, the search for their perfect family begins. We take pride in really trying to get to know our pets so that a perfect "fit" can be made. Your donation will enable us to meet our mission to rescue, nurture, rehabilitate, and place animals into their "furever" homes!
LuLu enjoying enrichment at our community partner Custom Paws!
Cairo, one of our sick kittens from June 2025.
Hops, one of over a dozen puppies already saved from parvo this year.
Velcro, another medical case from June, happy & healthy in his new home.
Wilson, new to the rescue and already ready for his furever home.
Giving Back - Our work is a team effort. We partner with other rescues so that all organizations can make a bigger impact. We are active within our community and participate in activities like Oldham County Days and events at Third Turn Oldham Gardens. We partner with local groups for hands-on volunteer experiences that help our animals and help fulfill volunteers' desire to serve. These groups include, to name a few: Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, Beta and NHS Students, The Rawlings Group, Humana, UPS, and more.
Paws Behind Bars Trained Dogs - This unique program at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex pairs 12 experienced inmate dog handlers with dogs needing obedience and social development. Most of these dogs were found in shelters. They are young dogs that were probably someone's discarded puppy that grew up big and unruly. It goes without saying, the dogs approach their second chance at life with every advantage; and the program does much to enhance the lives of the inmate handlers.
By supporting us, you are enabling us to continue our mission to make a positive impact on pet overpopulation in our area.
