Our Mission

Nourishing hope, one food box at a time, we bring dignity, comfort and connection to those facing hunger, delivering more than just food, but also a reminder that someone cares.

Feeding More Than Hunger—Feeding Hope

Founded in 2020, BSFB has grown into a lifeline for the Louisville community. From our home base at Shawnee Baptist Church in the Portland neighborhood, we distribute hundreds of pounds of fresh produce and pantry staples each week. But what we’re really delivering is hope, connection, and the chance for families to breathe a little easier.

Every Friday, from 11am–1pm, we provide at least 500 lbs. of fresh and non-perishable food to anyone in need. For those without transportation, we go one step further—bringing food directly to their doorstep. Because hunger doesn’t wait, and neither do we.

This work is only possible through the dedication of our volunteers, AmeriCorps VISTAs, and community partners like Dare to Care. Together, they pack boxes, stock shelves, deliver meals, and make sure no neighbor is left behind.

But here’s where you come in: your gift makes this mission sustainable. Your donation keeps food flowing, builds stronger systems for tomorrow, and ensures we can meet the growing need with compassion and efficiency.

When you give, you’re not just filling plates—you’re fueling hope, dignity, and resilience for families across Louisville.

Join us. Together, we can end hunger—one box, one neighbor, one act of kindness at a time.
