Who Is Blueprint502?

Blueprint502 is a nationally recognized workforce development, education, and leadership organization that empowers thousands of Louisville's opportunity youth and young adults each year to build independent, successful lives.

Formerly YouthBuild Louisville, we expanded our mission in the decade leading up to 2024 to better meet the evolving needs of our community. While YouthBuild Louisville remains a cornerstone of our work, Blueprint502 now provides a comprehensive pathway that combines education, career training, housing, mentorship, counseling, leadership development, and wraparound support.

We don't simply provide resources - we partner with every participant to develop the skills, confidence, resilience, and accountability needed to become self-sufficient adults. Through individualized support and real-world experience, young people earn diplomas and industry credentials, secure meaningful careers with family-sustaining wages, strengthen their families, serve their communities, and become the next generation of leaders.

Under the leadership of President & CEO Lynn Rippy, Blueprint 502 has become a proven model for transforming potential into lifelong success - one young adult, one family, and one community at a time.

How We Build Futures

Every participant receives a personalized plan that combines education, career preparation, life skills, accountability, mentorship, and wraparound support. Our goal isn't simply helping someone through a program - it's helping them build a life.

Education & Academic Success

• High school diploma and GED completion

Career Training & Workforce Development

Participants gain paid, hands-on experience while earning industry-recognized credentials in high-demand careers.  Career Pathways include:

• SummerWorks employment opportunities
• Hazardous Materials Handling

Students graduate with real work experience, professional certifications, employer connections, and the confidence to thrive in today's workforce.

Housing, Stability & Wellness

Success begins with stability. We help participants overcome barriers that prevent long-term independence through:

• Transitional housing
• Case management
• Counseling and trauma-informed support
• Mentorship and life coaching
• Resource navigation and family support

Leadership Through Service

Every YouthBuild participant completes 450 hours of community service, strengthening neighborhoods while developing leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and civic pride. Service isn't just something our students do - it's part of who they become.

Smoketown Community Center

Serving youth ages 11–24, our Smoketown Community Center provides:

• Afterschool and summer programming
• Makerspace and technology access
• Workforce development
• Mentoring
• Safe gathering spaces
• Community engagement opportunities

The center is designed to help young people discover their potential while building lasting connections within their community.

Blueprint 502 walks beside every participant from their first day through graduation and beyond.

We provide education, career training, housing, mentorship, and support, and our lasting impact comes from teaching young people how to think critically, solve problems, lead with integrity, make responsible decisions, build healthy relationships, support their families, and contribute to their communities.
