Help Every Student Be Ready to Learn

Christian Academy's goal for Give for Good Louisville is to raise $50,000 in support of the ongoing Sensory Transitional Support provided to students in Junior Academy through 2nd grade across our Kentucky and Indiana campuses.

The early childhood years are critical to a student's development and long-term success. Young learners are still developing the skills needed to regulate their emotions, organize sensory input, focus in the classroom and participate successfully alongside their peers.

Some students benefit from movement, tactile input, environmental adjustments or additional support to help them regulate and refocus. When teachers have the training, strategies and resources to respond to these needs within the classroom, students can remain part of the learning environment without feeling isolated or singled out.

Sensory Transitional Support provides a coordinated framework built around three core areas:

• Teacher Training: Professional development related to neurodiversity, sensory processing and practical intervention strategies

• In-Classroom Support: Real-time modeling of co-regulation strategies and recommendations for classroom adjustments

• Proactive Regulation: Age-appropriate sensory resources tailored to student needs to help prevent disruptions and support learning

This ongoing work supports academic engagement, strengthens emotional regulation, reduces sensory-related classroom disruptions, preserves instructional time and helps students participate meaningfully alongside their peers.
