Highview Arts Center believes everyone deserves a place in the arts—onstage, backstage, and in the audience. We’re committed to breaking down the barriers that keep people from participating in live performance. Accessibility isn’t just a feature of our work—it’s at the core of everything we do.

Here’s how we’re making that vision a reality:

• Location: We’re proud to serve South Louisville, where access to theatre is limited. For many in our community, we’re the closest live performance venue—and the one that feels like home.

• Affordability: Our ticket prices are intentionally low, and many of our productions offer pay-what-you-can nights to ensure no one is turned away because of cost.

• Physical Accessibility: Our venue is wheelchair accessible, with ground-level entry, flexible seating arrangement, and accessible restrooms.

• Sensory-Friendly Performances: We offer select performances designed with neurodiverse audiences in mind; featuring adjusted lighting, reduced sound levels, and a welcoming, flexible environment.

• Opportunities for All: Whether you’re a first-time actor or a longtime theatre lover, we welcome community members of all experience levels to get involved both onstage and behind the scenes.

• Commitment to Inclusion: We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, body size, age, disability, or background. Everyone is welcome here.

• Support for Local Arts: We offer our space to other arts organizations at very low rental rates, helping them access affordable, flexible venues for rehearsals and performances. Collaboration is key to building a stronger, more vibrant arts community.

• A Vision for the Future: We’re raising funds to convert our former classroom into a dedicated sensory-friendly space that will be open during all performances—offering a quiet, safe retreat without missing the show.
