$25,000 Goal

Imagination Library of Louisville is Building Bright Beginnings by ensuring our youngest learners have high quality reading materials in early childhood. We provide a free monthly book to nearly 20,000 Louisville children from birth to age five to foster a child’s love of reading and help them arrive at kindergarten ready to thrive. We believe that by improving early education and child literacy in our community, we can contribute to the lifelong success of Jefferson County kids.

  • Currently, over 50% of children are not kindergarten ready when they arrive at JCPS. We are seeking to change that by making sure all families have a monthly book to share together from birth to age five.
  • The books are addressed to the child creating an attachment to books at an early age and are theirs to keep to build their personal library.
  • The books are carefully selected each year by a committee of early childhood education experts to ensure families have a new, age appropriate book to read together every month.
  • Books are free to families and we fundraise to cover the cost of the books and shipping which is $1.30 per child per month so your donation goes a long way!
  • Support us today to ensure all Jefferson County kids have Bright Beginnings and continue to have access to high quality books in early childhood. To learn more, visit imaginationlibrarylouisville.org.
