The Justice Center at All Peoples

Who we are: 

The Justice Center is an initiative of All Peoples: A Unitarian Universalist Community to develop the capacities of area congregations, community groups, and individuals to engage in meaningful justice advocacy and activism. 

We achieve these goals through a mix of facilitating interfaith networks, congregational and community organizing, training, and events. We also facilitate advocacy efforts.

Some of our Impact

• We organized nearly 50 congregations to participate in this year’s Safe and Stable Housing for All campaign (up from 25 congregations last year)

• Also as a part of this year’s Safe and Stable Housing Campaign, we organized a housing prayer breakfast with more than 30 congregations attending

• We launched Transfire: an interfaith network in support of and in solidarity with our trans siblings. 

• We organized the first ever Democracy Festival in our community

• We organized a successful "Justice Film Festival" -- showing 6 films over 7 weeks and drawing in over 250 people

• We’ve launched our Housing Justice Initiative and are working to engage more congregations more deeply in the local efforts to ensure everyone in Metro Louisville has access to safe, stable and equitable housing. 

• We’ve built an “Advancing Democracy” initiative to support interfaith voter registration and engagement efforts and build a broader coalition to help defend and expand democracy beyond voting.

Because the Justice Center is an initiative of a church, many foundations are hesitant or unwilling to offer us grants. So we are even more reliant on donations. In addition, we prefer to be donor led so that we can be responsive to the needs of our community and engage in advocacy and organizing to meet these often emerging needs.

Your contribution will help us to sustain and grow our efforts!  Your generous donation will allow us to engage more congregations, offer more training, and help these congregations to connect more deeply with the organizations in our community working with the people most directly impacted.
