Who we are:
Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive resettlement and support services to forcibly displaced refugee and immigrant populations in Kentucky.
Established in Louisville in 1990, KRM has grown to meet the increased number of families in need of critical support, expanding to include additional sub-offices in Lexington (est. 1998) and Covington (est. 2021). KRM provides resettlement and long-term, ongoing services to refugees and immigrants through agency-based resources and staff; faith- and community-based support; a network of volunteers; and community partner organizations in order to promote self-sufficiency, successful integration and a sense of belonging. KRM is committed to offering access to resources and opportunities, reducing access barriers and promoting awareness of diversity for the benefit of the whole community.
Today, KRM continues to provide robust services to refugee and immigrant families. We help clients access employment, housing, medical and mental health services. We work with refugee youth to promote academic success and continuing education. We offer English, cultural orientation and citizenship classes. We provide immigration legal services. We assist families in financial hardship in meeting basic needs. And now, we help our clients navigate the new and rising challenges in an ever-changing atmosphere.
