Offering Hope, One Child at a Time

The Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes began 154 years ago as a place of safety for homeless widows and orphans after the Civil War. We now serve young people who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma. As a Christian service agency for children and families, we believe that every person is an individual of worth entitled to God's gift of wholeness of life. 

Our mission is to serve Christ by providing for the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of children and families. For every child we serve, we know their future families and communities will be better for it.

Our Impact Together

• Residential Services: Youth who have experienced abuse and neglect receive a safe home and therapeutic care. (199 served last year!)
• Community-Based Services: Youth and families facing behavioral or emotional challenges heal together through counseling and other resources. (1,655 served last year!)
• Independent Living: Young adults aging out of foster care and at risk of homelessness are prepared and supported for adulthood. (96 served last year!)
• Adoption Services: Adoptive families receive case management and home studies services. (24 served last year!)

In total, we served 1,974 youth and families in 2024.
