As People of Action, we celebrate possibilities and work tirelessly to improve our communities and the world. Our Rotary clubs invite community members to join us in making a difference, by investing in the future leaders of our community, our students!

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED

College Scholarships

LaGrange Rotary has a long history of awarding 3-4 high school scholarships every year. High school scholarships are awarded to provide financial assistance for higher education or vocational training, and are increasingly important as the cost of post secondary programs continues to rise. By decreasing reliance on student loans, scholarships allow recipients to pursue their chosen fields of study with less financial burden. LaGrange Rotary values this community investment in our youth, and hopes to offer more and greater value scholarships to OCHS graduating seniors .

Hand in Hand Community Restoration Project - Auxier, KY

Every year the La Grange Rotary club partners with Hand in Hand to help restore communities in eastern Kentucky. In 2025, Oldham County High Schools sent 14 students to Auxier, KY to help repair homes following several natural disasters in the region.

Hand in Hand provides immersion trips that go far beyond “voluntourism” and truly transform both the lives of the trip participants and those we serve. Working side-by-side with the people of Belize, Appalachia, and Louisville, students experience new cultures and friendships. Students learn the history of the regions where they serve and enjoy the geography and natural beauty. Building a new home, repairing an existing house, building a wheelchair ramp, and working with the children in Hand in Hand’s programs are all part of an experience they won’t forget.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where young people can develop leadership skills while having fun and making connections. Focus is on developing young leaders who celebrate diversity, create sustainable change, and become service-minded global citizens. Students learn conflict resolution strategies as well as combine leadership development and vocational training to help young people discover their potential and hone skills.
