A Place to Make Your Bed

For someone who has experienced homelessness, the journey home is about more than having a roof overhead. It’s about finding a safe place to sleep, a community that believes in you, and an opportunity to begin again.

That is the vision behind Grace Village.  

Mark 12 Ministries provides transitional housing for the unhomed through Pathway Home.  Until Grace Village is complete, this program follows the “Room in the Inn” model.  Participants stay in a different location each night.  That means that they wake up early, pack all of their belongings and load up the van.  After working for 8-10 hours, the van picks them up and the group goes to their “location” for the night.  Participants set up their cots, have a meal and the routine repeats the next morning.

Grace Village will provide safe, stable housing for participants in our Pathway Home program as they take the difficult but courageous steps toward stability, independence, and a new future.  

Mark 12 Ministries will also be able to provide housing for homeless veterans through Operation Restore.  We recognize that they have unique experiences that require specialized support and access to resources. Grace Village will provide them a home base while they navigate their journey out of homelessness.

Four-Star Admiral William McRaven wrote a book titled: Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World.  He says, “If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another.”  

We can't build Grace Village alone.  The exciting part is that the property has already been purchased free and clear. The land is ours. The vision is ready. And now, we are ready to begin construction.
