At Mammaw Sandy’s Kitchen, Inc. featuring Thornberry’s Bakery, our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to gain skills, find purpose, and thrive in a supportive environment. Through employment, job training, and community programs, we are working to break down barriers and build a more inclusive world.

We opened in April of this year and have already been able to provide training opportunities for so many students. To help us continue, we are excited to announce our Pies with a Purpose campaign—because every slice makes a difference! 🍰 When you support MSK&T, you’re not just enjoying a delicious dessert—you’re fueling opportunities for one of the most underserved populations in our community. Donors will get their name or logo featured on our “Pies with a Purpose” wall inside the bakery. 

Our Pie Pan Wall is more than just a display of gratitude—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the rich history of Thornberry’s Bakery and its deep-rooted connection to the community. Decades ago, when Thornberry’s was a bustling neighborhood staple, customers paid a $1 deposit on each pie pan. That simple practice encouraged folks to bring their pans back—not just for the refund, but for another chance to enjoy the homemade pies they knew and loved. It was a quiet tradition that built loyalty, connection, and continuity between the bakery and the families it served.

Today, we honor that legacy by inviting you to become part of our story. For every donor who supports our mission through Pies with a Purpose, we display a custom pie pan—sized to match your giving level—on our Pie Pan Wall. It’s our way of bringing back the spirit of community exchange that defined Thornberry’s from the very beginning.

Each pan represents more than a donation, it represents:
