Support Historic Preservation During Give for Good Louisville

The Peterson Dumesnil House has weathered a lot in its 156 years, but recently Mother Nature has been a little extra spirited - toppling a large pine tree next to the House, sending a lightning strike that caused electrical damage, and leaving the exterior of our historic home in need of some TLC.

While we have successfully completed the initial phase of masonry work to the front porch, the next major repair ahead is restoring the porch foundation's mortar joints, a $9,000 project that will keep the House standing for many years to come.

With your help we can tackle these repairs and safeguard this Louisville landmark for future generations. Every gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making these repairs and keeping the House strong for years to come.

Who We Are

The Peterson-Dumesnil House Foundation works to preserve the Peterson Dumesnil House - a nationally registered historic home, a Louisville landmark, and so much more. The House provides the Crescent Hill neighborhood with a sense of historic identity and has served as a gathering place for various functions and events for generations. Appreciated almost like a community park, the estate is used daily by neighbors enjoying the grounds to walk their dog, host an art class, watch birds, or play catch with their children. The House is a cherished part of Louisville's history and has been the backdrop of countless memories for families and friends over the years.  We need your help to ensure critical upkeep of this beloved home continues so the House is preserved for future generations to enjoy! 100% of your donations go to maintaining the 156-year-old House and grounds, which require year-round care and costly updates. The 2025 Give For Good Campaign proceeds will also allow the Foundation to continue hosting free, community building events like outdoor concerts, historic talks, and tours.
