Plastic Reduction Project, Louisville

The Plastic Reduction Project Louisville focuses on helping small businesses and institutions move away from single-use plastic and other disposables toward reuse systems that work in the real world. Our first local initiative is the Bring Your Own (BYO) Cup campaign with Louisville area coffee shops. This program encourages cafes to post a window sticker inviting customers to bring their own clean, reusable containers. By bringing their own cups, Louisvillians can enjoy drinking their coffee more sustainably while working with businesses to cut down waste and reduce the use of plastic.

Plastic Reduction Project Louisville developed as a partner with Beyond Plastics Louisville, which is part of a nation-wide, grassroots movement to educate the public about the harm caused by plastic pollution and promote alternatives to single-use plastics. Our Beyond Plastics Louisville group has been active in Louisville since 2022, hosting informational speakers and videos and tabling at public events.
