Franciscan Hospitality in Action: Construction Begins This Year!

Mount Saint Francis Outdoor Restrooms - Help Push Us Across the Finish Line!

Hospitality is central to Franciscan life. At Mount St. Francis, thousands of students, artists, families, and neighbors come each year to retreat, explore nature, and seek peace.

For years, one essential piece of hospitality has been missing: outdoor restrooms. Families with children, retreatants on break, hikers on our trails—all have asked for this basic need.

Thank you to all who previously donated to the outdoor restroom project! (A special thank you to Caesars Foundation of Floyd County for providing an initial grant of $15,000!)After delays, relocations, and a lengthy permitting process, we are finally ready: construction is scheduled to begin in late 2025. Construction will include outdoor access to both men's and women's restrooms, complete with sustainable fixtures and all amenities. Restrooms will be ADA-compliant.  

The total project cost is $140,000. On September 18, during Give for Good Louisville, we invite you to help us raise at least $15,000—and with your generosity, even more. Your gift ensures we are ready to welcome the contractors later this year and move forward without delay.

• $250 → touchless sink fixtures

• $500 → baby changing stations for fa

• $1,000 → ventilation and HVAC for safety

• $5,000 → plumbing to connect to water and sewer
