Roots of Purpose Inc

Hi friends! We are Roots of Purpose, a non-profit focused on preventing homelessness by reducing poverty in our Louisville community through career advising, financial empowerment, and community building. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to reform their lives, revive their purpose, and rectify their mistakes. We believe they deserve a chance to live a life that is sustainable, that they love, and that holds meaning for them.

When Roots of Purpose was founded in 2023, the goal was to reduce the pressures of life that being unhoused amplifies. We wanted to address all of the root causes of homelessness in one place. On this journey, We've realized that our biggest mistake as concerned community members is that we don't show up for people before they "need" us. We don't help people that don't "need" help. That's why when our Executive Director found out her church was closing, she proposed that it be donated to Roots of Purpose to be turned into a community center - a space where people can eat together, grow together, and invest in each other.

When the Roots of Purpose Community Center opens it's doors this winter, we will be doing bi-weekly community dinners, where no one goes hungry, no one eats alone, and everyone serves a purpose. Whether they bring paper plates, food items, games, or just good vibes, were building a community that invests in itself. We'll have a clothing closet, completely supplied by the community - free clothes and shoes that can be checked out for events, interviews, celebrations, and so much more. We'll be creating out of poverty plans to help people reach whatever the next step in life is for them, offering career and education services, and hosting life skill and educational seminars, all while working tirelessly to meet their current needs so they can focus on creating long-term sustainable change in their lives.

But we cannot do this alone.

We need your help to be able to open the doors to our community center and fuel this change that we're creating for people across Louisville. Please donate today to help your donation make even more of a difference and contact me at (502) 287-2973 if you'd like to get more involved!
