Thrive by 5 Louisville Inc

Did you know that more than 9,600 four-year-olds in Louisville are not enrolled in any form of childcare or preschool? Not only does this mean too many children are starting school without being kindergarten-ready, it also means parents are unable to access the care they need to work and support their families. Thrive by 5 Louisville is a new nonprofit dedicated to making early childhood education a shared priority in our city. We don’t run classrooms, instead, we connect families to resources, support educators, and help fill critical gaps across the early learning system. We work hard to ensure that every child in Louisville has access to high-quality early learning by investing in three pillars: the workforce, learning environments, and affordability.

A key part of this work is our Family Navigators, who help families understand and access childcare options, making sure every eligible family receives the state and federal subsidies available to them. Already, Family Navigators have helped 80% of our families unlock resources many didn’t know they qualified for, making childcare affordable or even free,  when they thought it was out of reach. For our first-ever Give for Good Louisville campaign, we are thrilled to partner with Collaborative for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to provide Louisville families with an Artful Reading On the Go book kit.  Each kit empowers families with arts-integrated literacy experiences designed to build vocabulary, social-emotional learning, creativity, and academic readiness. Every family who works with a Navigator will receive one of these thoughtfully crafted book kits.  

Together with CTL, we’re aiming to reach 200 families with Artful Reading On the Go kits - 100 families through CTL and 100 families through Thrive by 5 Louisville. Please join us in making this small but powerful step towards helping children receive the spark and joy of literacy and early childhood education opportunity every child deserves.
