Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park is the place where Louisville comes together. 

Once an industrial eyesore, our waterfront is now the most vibrant and diverse space in our city hosting over 2.4 million visitors annually.  

This year, we invite you to help us celebrate two exciting milestones:

• Waterfront Park was named the Best Riverwalk in the United States of America.
• We opened PlayPort, the first piece of the westward park expansion focused on experiential learning and play.   

From Wasteland to Wonder:  Just 30 years ago, our waterfront was a desolate industrial wasteland.  Today, thanks to the commitment of people like you, it has transformed into a green, thriving destination that reflects the spirit of our community.

While the park is free to enjoy, it is not free to maintain.  Waterfront Park is an independent non-profit park that earns over 75% of its annual operating budget through donor support, events, and rental income. We rely on generous contributions to keep Waterfront Park clean, green, vibrant, and welcoming for everyone.

Waterfront Park is a non-profit public park in Louisville, Kentucky. Bordering the Ohio River, we are not only a destination but the front door to the city. We connect people to the river and are devoted to preserving and growing a space that can be enjoyed by the community forever.
