Who We Are:
Amped is a Louisville-based nonprofit creating pathways to economic mobility, opportunity, and belonging for Black and Latinx families.
Through entrepreneurship, technology workforce development, and music education, Amped helps people build businesses, prepare for living-wage careers, and develop the confidence, skills, and support systems needed to thrive.
Our approach is intentionally holistic. We recognize that opportunity does not exist in isolation, so we work across generations, supporting young people, adults, entrepreneurs, and families while connecting them to the tools, relationships, resources, and community they need to move forward.
All of Amped’s programs are offered at no cost to participants, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of talent, ambition, or opportunity.
At its core, Amped is building a stronger ecosystem where individuals and families can create, grow, build wealth, and shape their own futures.
What We Do:
At Amped, we believe in supporting the whole family. Our three core programs—Amped Business Accelerator (ABA), Technology Workforce Training Program, and Music Academy—are designed to build pathways to success for every family member.
Amped Business Accelerator: We provide Black and Latinx entrepreneurs with the tools they need to launch and grow their businesses, including access to capital, mentorship, networking opportunities, and mental health support. Our focus on addressing the racial wealth gap is critical in building generational wealth and strengthening our communities.
Technology Workforce Training Program: We prepare individuals for careers in the tech industry through hands-on training, certification programs, and job placement support. By focusing on technology skills, we help our community members secure jobs in high-demand fields and create economic stability for their families.
Music Academy: We offer free music education programs year-round for youth ages 8-18. Our programs go beyond music, instilling confidence, creativity, and discipline while creating a sense of belonging and community.
Our Impact:
In November 2025, Amped launched the Tech & Learning Center, a one-stop shop that houses the Amped Business Accelerator, the Technology Workforce Training program, and a host of community partners.
The Amped Music Academy served 226 children through 432 total program enrollments in 2025. Through a new pilot program with Humana, Amped also measured students’ social and emotional well-being, finding that more than 7 out of 10 students feel connected, part of a group, and able to talk to an adult they trust. That sense of connection is also reflected academically, with 87% of Amped students improving their math testing scores and 82% improving in reading.
The Amped Technology Workforce Training Program provides adults with 12 weeks of paid, in-person training that leads to industry-recognized IT certifications and pathways to living-wage careers. In 2025, 56 students completed training and passed 77 IT certification exams, including CompTIA A+ 1201 and 1202 and AZ-900. Additionally, 59% of participants secured professional or technical employment or continued their IT education, with employed graduates earning an average salary of $38,652.
The Amped Business Accelerator has served more than 150 businesses since launching in 2021. In 2025, 75% of participating businesses increased their revenue, while entrepreneurs improved their credit scores by an average of 33 points. Through a new partnership with Republic Bank, seven businesses also accessed a combined $175,000 in revolving lines of credit, helping founders strengthen their businesses and build greater financial stability.
