Because Every Cat Deserves a Second Chance

These are the cats that Animal Protection Association (APA) exists to save.

For 27 years, APA has been the voice for the forgotten cats and kittens in our community—those who are homeless, abandoned, neglected, injured, or simply out of options. As an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue, we believe every treatable, rehabilitatable, and savable cat deserves the chance to live, love, and be loved.

Every year, more than 200 cats and kittens come through our doors. They arrive needing food, medical care, vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, medications, warmth, safety, and, perhaps most importantly, someone who believes their life is worth saving.

Our volunteers provide all of that.

For many cats, the happy ending is adoption into a loving home. But not every cat finds a family. Some are seniors, have chronic medical conditions, or simply aren't suited for life in a traditional home.

That's why APA is also a sanctuary.

Our Forever Family cats have a permanent home with us. They receive the love, medical care, nutritious food, warm beds, and daily companionship they need for the rest of their lives. They may never leave the shelter, but they will never again know hunger, fear, abandonment, or loneliness. They are cherished members of the APA family, and we are honored to care for them for as long as they need us.

But we can't do it alone.

The cost of caring for just one kitten far exceeds the adoption fee. Veterinary care, medications, food, litter, and everyday supplies quickly add up. Caring for our Forever Family cats is a lifelong commitment, one we proudly make because every life has value. Every dollar donated helps ensure we never have to turn our backs on a cat simply because of a lack of resources.
