It’s late at night. A tiny kitten huddles beneath an abandoned porch, shivering and alone. Her cries echo into the darkness, but no one comes. She is one of many — the forgotten, the discarded, the invisible.

But then, a hand reaches out. A soft blanket wraps around her frail body. She is safe. She is warm. She is no longer alone.

This is what the Animal Protection Association (APA) does every single day.

Founded in 1999, APA is proud to celebrate 26 years of saving lives — one cat, one kitten, one gentle soul at a time. We are an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue devoted entirely to homeless cats and kittens. Each of us shares the same unwavering belief: every cat deserves the chance to live, love, and be loved.

Last year alone, we welcomed 183 cats and kittens into our shelter and foster homes — each one with a unique story and a heart longing for love. Whether they stay with us for days, months, years, or even their lifetime, we promise them safety, nourishment, enrichment, medical care, and above all, love.

As an all-volunteer organization, we have no paid staff. Every dollar you give goes directly to providing care for the 200+ cats and kittens who rely on us each year. Preparing a cat for adoption — including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and testing — costs us $180 per cat, yet our adoption fee is just $80. We bridge that gap with the generosity of people like you.

Beyond rescue and adoption, we are fiercely committed to ending the cycle of suffering. Spaying and neutering isn’t just a medical procedure — it’s a promise for a better future. Just one pair of unaltered cats can result in more than 2,000 kittens in four years and over 2 million in eight years. Your support helps us stop this heartbreak before it starts.
