Scouting America, Lincoln Heritage Council

Scouting builds leaders, changes lives, and strengthens our community one adventure at a time! Scouting's outdoor programs for youth teach self-confidence, ethics, service to others, and leadership skills. Headquartered in Louisville, the Lincoln Heritage Council serves youth ages 5-20 in 64 counties across Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Tennessee and has camp properties located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky (Harry S. Frazier, Jr. Scout Reservation); Benton, Kentucky (Pfeffer Scout Reservation), and Charlestown, Indiana (Tunnel Mill Scout Reservation). Scouting units in the Lincoln Heritage Council are chartered by over 300 different community groups that include civic, non-profit, religious, educational, and business organizations.

Who We Are

The Lincoln Heritage Council is one of the largest in the Scouting America organization.  We serve over 8,000 youth through a variety of programs including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring.  We aim to continue to increase our membership, making Scouting opportunities available to every single child in the areas we serve.

Cub Scouts is for boys and girls ages 5-11. Scouts BSA is for boys and girls ages 11-18. Venturing is a coed high adventure program for youth ages 14-21. Exploring is a career exploration program for youth ages 10-20.

All the Scouting programs aim to help youth learn and abide by the Scout Oath and Law.

The Scout Oath is:
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

The Scout Law is:
A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
