Breath of Life International

Breath of Life International (BOLI) believes lasting transformation happens when people are equipped—not simply helped.

Based in Louisville and serving locally and across borders, BOLI mobilizes and makes disciples of Jesus who transform communities. We work alongside local churches, indigenous leaders, professionals, students, and families to address both spiritual and practical needs in ways that build dignity, strengthen local capacity, and multiply impact.

Our work is holistic because the challenges communities face are connected. A family may need clean water. A village may lack access to basic health care. Farmers may need better tools or training. A church may be ready to reach its neighbors but need discipleship, leadership development, or practical skills. Rather than creating long-term dependence on outside help, BOLI equips people within their own communities to become problem-solvers, leaders, disciple-makers, and agents of transformation. 

That can look like training community health advocates to recognize illness and know when to refer patients for professional care; equipping medical, dental, veterinary, agricultural, and technical trainers who can teach others; helping communities improve water, sanitation, agriculture, and livelihoods; training pastors and believers in disciple-making and simple church planting; and mobilizing Latin American and U.S. Hispanic churches to take the gospel to unreached peoples. BOLI's current ministry encompasses discipleship, leadership development, community transformation, medical/dental/veterinary outreach and training, infrastructure improvement, and global mobilization. 

At the heart of BOLI is a simple idea: what God places in someone’s hands can become a tool for changing lives.

A nurse can train community health workers.
