Guided by our vision of shared resources, shared outcomes, shared dreams, Bringing Justice Home fosters the health and well-being of all Louisvillians, prioritizing the needs and gifts of those marginalized by disability or health status, and engages the community in the work of justice. 

Nourishing Neighbors Program

Nourishing Neighbors is at the heart of what we do – an initiative dedicated to providing fresh, healthy, and culturally relevant food directly to our Louisville neighbors. Through this program, we deliver groceries right to the doorsteps of individuals and families who face barriers to traditional food assistance, ensuring they can focus on their health, stability, and well-being without the added stress of food insecurity.

But Nourishing Neighbors is more than just providing food and household supplies – it’s about connection and dignity. Bringing Justice Home (BJH) offers vital social support to neighbors. Our regular visits provide meaningful human connection—someone to listen, share a laugh, and offer encouragement. For many, we are a steady source of compassion in a world that can feel uncertain. This ongoing social connection helps reduce feelings of isolation, fosters emotional well-being, and reinforces that every person we serve is valued, seen, and supported.

Bridgett's Story: From Struggling to Nourishment and Belonging

Bridgett’s story is one of strength, transformation, and hope. Before becoming a BJH neighbor, she often skipped meals or grabbed candy bars for breakfast—not out of choice, but necessity. Living with limited mobility and resources, something as simple as grocery shopping became a major hurdle. Without access to a scooter or seated cart, navigating a store was out of the question, and affording healthy food was even harder.

Now, thanks to the generosity of people like you, Bridgett enjoys regular, nourishing meals and has participated in our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program for the past three growing seasons, receiving fresh, organic farm boxes every other week. The impact has gone beyond physical health—Bridgett has also found purpose and joy in giving back, sending birthday and holiday cards to fellow BJH neighbors. She says, “My health was suffering because I couldn’t afford to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. But now that I'm getting your generous deliveries, I feel so much better!”
