Who We Are

Central Louisville Community Ministries (CLCM) is proud to continue to serve those in need in the downtown Louisville area for more than 50 years. The cost of rent and utilities is higher than ever, and frankly unaffordable for those on fixed incomes, working low-wage jobs, or who have had a crisis. Food pantry use has increased sixfold since 2020, a good indication that our neighbors are not able to meet basic needs. With SNAP, USDA Food, and Medicaid all being cut, many of our neighbors are at risk. CLCM is here to listen and assist by connecting online, on the phone, at our affiliate food pantry, in the clothes closet, or in our offices, by walking folks through applications, offering case management, and providing much-needed assistance with past-due utilities bills and rent, food and personal care items. Your donation makes it possible for us to fill the funding gaps, provide knowledgeable staff to guide clients, help stock the food pantry, keep our clothes closet open, provide refurbished bikes from Pedal Power, and offer items like toilet paper, shampoo, and cleaning supplies not covered by SNAP benefits.

As a member of the Association of Community Ministries (ACM) serving all of Louisville, we encourage you to support ACM's work in other neighborhoods as well. We are all in this together, and we need to take care of each other. Thank you for your support!

CLCM's service area includes the parts of 40202, 40203, and 40208 that are bordered by: the Ohio River on the north; Shelby, Merriwether, and I-65 on the east; Eastern Parkway and the railroad tracks from Eastern Parkway to Ninth Street on the south; and Ninth Street on the west. Our food pantry and clothes closet are open to all, regardless of where they live.
