Kentucky Derby Museum is the sole nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the rich legacy and history of the Kentucky Derby and the Thoroughbred industry. Your support helps us reach our mission to ENGAGE, EDUCATE, and EXCITE EVERYONE about the extraordinary experience that is the Kentucky Derby through exhibits, educational programming, and so much more!  

We welcome over 258,000 visitors each year from around the world. We are the only place where you can Derby every day! Although the museum sits adjacent to historic Churchill Downs Racetrack, it operates as a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, generating its own revenue. We’re grateful for our supporters and community partners that allow our mission to thrive!

Kentucky Derby Museum is one of the region’s premier attractions, celebrating the tradition, history, hospitality, and pride of the world-renowned event that is the Kentucky Derby. With a general admission ticket, visitors can enjoy two floors of interactive exhibits, a Guided Track Visit of Churchill Downs Racetrack, and view our epic film, “The Greatest Race,” a 360°, 18-minute media experience that will make your heart race and emotions soar!
