Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy

The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy (KRTC) serves the “backside” of Churchill Downs—where horsemen and horses come together and the need is great.  Known as the Backside Ministry, this faith-based work supports a tight-knit community of race track workers who live, labor, and care for one another like family.

The ministry strives to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of these workers by offering:

Weekly worship services and Bible studies

Facilitated children's programs

Weekly worship services

The Chaplaincy also serves as extended family for many track workers. It helps to meet those in physical need by providing:

*Basic hygiene supplies

*Clothing closet
