About MAYA Collection

Founded in 2009 in South Louisville, MAYA Collection exists to encourage and empower refugee women and teens by helping them develop their God-given talents and grow as self-sufficient artisans. Alongside artisan training, we offer free sewing classes, teen mentorship programs, and community-building events to serve families on Louisville’s Southside with care and dignity.

Every artisan receives mentorship and employment opportunities, learning to design and create beautiful handcrafted goods while earning fair pay for their work. Volunteers join us in guiding artisans through the design process, helping bring their products to life for local boutiques, markets, and our online store. In 2023, we celebrated the opening of our own boutique, The Bloom House, where you can find unique, handmade products created by our artisans.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Sponsoring immigrant and refugee women and teens to be trained in our sewing room
• Providing training materials, tools, and supplies for our artisans
• Investing in our new location to expand our programs and teen hub
