Who We Are

My Chosen People Inc. is a 501-C (3) non-profit organization that's been serving since 2012, women who are enrolled in a substance abuse program located in Louisville, Kentucky. We also service individuals and families within the community who suffer with substance use disorders, and mental health issues who are homeless and in crisis. 

 What We Do

The focus of My Chosen People is to equip women with the skills needed to support themselves and their children. We are currently facilitating 6- to 8-week program sessions at Dismas Charities for formerly incarcerated women. We  these women as they re-entry back to society.  Our goal is for every woman we serve to remain sober and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Making sure they have healthcare and the proper resources. Upon completing the program, each family is assigned a target case manager, peer support, and therapist who will provide assistance for up to one year—or as long as needed. 

The Why 

We believe that every woman deserves a second chance at life. My Chosen People aims to be the missing link that supports each mother on their journey. We value life and hope both mother and child can recover and embrace a healthy lifestyle. My Chosen People offers mental health and relapse prevention sessions. dental care assistance, job search and placement services, housing, and parenting classes. We are committed to collaboration and work closely with our community partners. Here are some of the services we offer:

• Group sessions (trauma, depression, grief, and anxiety).

My Chosen People have been able to assist women with different services over the years, we have became more productive to their needs. This has helped women to transfer and makes their re-entry become a success by breaking barriers. Please see data below:

• Dentures & dental care - 150 individuals
• Eye glasses - 375 individuals 
• IDs' - 200 individuals
• Cell phones - 225 individuals
• GED's - 20 individuals

We are honored to have assist women to receive their peer support certificate and receive their GED through JCPS online. There has been women that we were able to assist them with applying for college. This has been a great journey and we would appreciate your assistant to continue to move forward. 

The funds will be used towards:

• Tarc Tickets
• Gift Cards for food 
• Hygiene items
• Supplies
• Assist with ID's 
• Assist with Birth certificates 
• Purchase items for the "My Chosen People Bouquet"  (clothes closet).
• Diapers 
• Assist with deposits for housing 
• Supplies for graduation
