I Rise: A Family Self-Sufficiency Program

What is I Rise?

I Rise is Kentucky’s first HUD-approved Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program operated by an independent nonprofit. Over a 3–5 year journey, 283 residents (and growing) work with dedicated Coaches to achieve long-term economic independence.

Each participant develops a personalized action plan with goals such as:

• 🎓 Completing educational goals or vocational training

• 💼 Securing and advancing in employment

• 💰 Building savings for homeownership

• 🚗 Accessing reliable transportation

• 📉 Managing or eliminating debt

This is not a one-size-fits-all program. Our Coaches engage weekly offering consistent, trusted support that makes all the difference.

What’s New This Year?

We’re excited to launch a Mentorship Program, connecting participants with mentors for guidance, encouragement, and expanded community support—strengthening our five core pillars: Education, Employment, Financial Empowerment, Health and Safety, Activities of Daily Living.
