At Open Door Youth Services, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive place to stay. For over 40 years, we've provided that space, offering shelter, guidance, and care to vulnerable youth across Indiana.

Now, we’re working to open the door to something even better.

Meet Jayden:

When 14-year-old Jayden* arrived at Open Door, he hadn’t had a safe place to sleep in days. His voice was quiet. His hoodie stayed up. He didn’t make eye contact. At first, he barely said a word.

But over time, thanks to the consistency of staff, the warmth of a meal, and a space where he didn’t have to look over his shoulder, Jayden began to open up. He started working with our full-time therapist. He played basketball with other youth. He even helped cook dinner one night, cracking jokes while stirring spaghetti sauce.

Jayden left Open Door with a plan, a support system, and a sense of belonging.

Today, Open Door Youth Services operates under the auspices of the Floyd County Circuit Court while being fully self-supporting. We are grateful for the continued support from our community and partners as we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people facing challenges.
