Who We Are

Pit Bulls of St. Francis ("PBSF Dog Rescue") is a 501(c)3, nonprofit all-breed dog foster based rescue in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Due to one very special person, with a heart of gold and a desire to make a difference, PBSF Dog Rescue was officially formed 9 years ago this month. Most of the dogs we rescue are at a high risk of death via euthanasia or worse. Our focus are dogs with severe medical issues and/or at risk of euthanasia. This year alone we have taken in dogs with pyometra, gunshot wounds, several hit by a car and one beaten so severely she lost an eye. The dogs come to us from the worst of the worst situations, and we do whatever is needed to ensure they become healthy, happy dogs in loving homes. 

We do not have any paid positions - every dollar donated goes to the dogs in our care. All of us have full time jobs, families and normal life obligations - yet we put our hearts and souls into this rescue every day.
