Pets4Life Louisville

A nonprofit organization

Pets4Life Louisville is the only pet welfare organization in Louisville that is focused exclusively on pet retention.  While many organizations do the good work of trying to help homeless shelter pets, Pets4Life Louisville tries to PREVENT them from entering shelters in the first place.... by helping people keep their Pets4Life!  Studies show that nearly 50% of the people who give-up their pets do so because of pet related issues such as medical or behavior which is why we help pet families who do not have access to vet care.

The Pets4Life Vet-Mobile provides low-cost (or free) vet resources for those who need it so that they can keep their animals.  Our goals are to:

  • Reduce animal suffering through wellness clinics
  • Increase pet retention (vet services & microchip clinics)
  • Reducing unwanted births through spay/neuter efforts

Results:  Pets4Life efforts will not only improve neighborhoods and the lives of the under-served, but will also improve the live release rates in our local animal shelters.  If we can prevent unwanted pet births, reduce the number of strays and reduce the number of owner surrenders, then fewer animals will need to be euthanized for space.
