Time Slip Theatre

Time Slip Theatre is a 501(c)(3) theatre company dedicated to enhancing the cultural landscape of Louisville while increasing arts education accessibility to students. The goal is to produce exciting and innovative mainstage theatre while simultaneously working to empower students to discover and explore musical theatre when they may not otherwise have the chance to do so.

Most know for its annual production of "The Rocky Horror Show" at PLAY Louisville every October, Time Slip Theatre was founded in 2021. Its first season saw productions of "Murder Ballad," "Cruel Intentions" and "Once" in addition to "Rocky Horror." That same season, Time Slip also launched its after-school musical theatre kids program, where students grades 3-8 come together weekly to rehearse a show that they then present to their friends and family at semester's end. In line with Time Slip's mission, any student facing a barrier of any kind to arts education – financial or otherwise – may qualify for sponsored tuition to the after-school program.

In its second season, Time Slip produced "tick, tick...BOOM!" and then followed that up with "Coherence," a premiere adaptation of James Ward Byrkit's psychological thriller film.

This year, Time Slip collaborated with writer/director Duncan Birmingham to adapt his horror film "Who Invited Them" for live theatre, with Time Slip's premiere production marking the company's second film-to-stage adaptation. That show kicked off Time Slip's new Three Part Series and will be followed by Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" and an interactive adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death." Meanwhile, the 12th year of "Rocky Horror" is coming up next month and the students are preparing to begin rehearsals for this semester's show, "Frozen JR."

Time Slip Theatre prides itself on hosting exciting and cutting-edge productions for the community in addition to upholding the timeless legacy of "Rocky Horror" while also giving kids a safe and supportive space to learn about and explore theatre.
