(Un)Known Project

Support the (Un)Known Project Sculpture Park!

We are expanding the (Un)Known Project site into a permanent place of remembrance, beauty, truth, and belonging along Louisville’s riverfront.

The expanded Sculpture Park will include two major new public artworks. America 250 will honor the labor, skill, ingenuity, and contributions of enslaved Black people whose work helped build and shape America. Broken Wings Still Fly will center the lives of Black women through a multigenerational depiction of community, hope, survival, and resilience, inspired by our theatrical production about enslaved women in Kentucky.

The park will also include additional seating, walkways, and historical interpretation, creating a welcoming space where people can gather, learn, reflect, and remember.

This is an opportunity to create a legacy site in Louisville where history is not hidden, where ancestors are honored by name, and where future generations can encounter the past with truth, dignity, and humanity.

We invite you to invest in the (Un)Known Project Sculpture Park and help us build a place that will speak long after we are gone.

(Un)Known Project unearths and honors the names and stories of enslaved Black people in America and the global African diaspora. We support learning, healing, and reconciliation through the creation of artistic spaces and experiences.
