The Paw and Feather Plan Inc

The Paw and Feather Plan Inc initiated to give pet owners a safe, loving, reliable place, to whom to bequeath pets in wills, trusts and/or directives. 

        Some pet owners have family members that may take in their pets in the event of the owner's death or incapacitation.  Other pet owners don't have this sense of security (if it's not in writing, no one should feel this sense of security). 

        That's why PAFP Inc exists, to offer pet owners peace of mind, and pets a guaranteed secure future, no matter what. 

        According to estate planning attorneys that specialize in the area of 'Pets in Planning,' all pet owners should include their pets in life and death documents, with provisions, and there should be a 3-tier system of listed caregivers in place.

      'Pets in Planning' is still a rather novel idea.  -Of the 200+ pets we've taken into our foster-based organization, only 6 have come to us as a result of an owner's death, and only 3 of those came to us with provisions.  Oftentimes, we get the call to help out after the death of a pet owner, and the pets aren't in the death plans.  -Of course we always try to  help out anyway. 

Cats are typically more challenging to place, so including cats in death plans truly is essential to their long-term security.  

    Until the idea of 'Pets in Planning' really catches on, we simply #keepcalmandrescueon!  We rescue at-risk pets from a few different state shelters, primarily from Louisville Metro Animal Services (right here in our own back yard!) and Bullitt County Animal Services.  PAFP Inc is proud of and humbled by our excellent relationship with our rescue partners.
