About Fees
Donors may opt to cover the Mightycause fees before completing their transaction. Data shows that 90% of donations had fees covered by donors during Give for Good Louisville in 2024, but this is ultimately up to the donor. Donors are also welcome to set up a Charitable Checking Fund or Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundation of Louisville, which are not subject to the platform and credit card fees, ensuring that the entirety of their donation reaches the organizations they care about.
- Mightycause retains a 2% campaign management fee from all donations.
- Credit Card: Processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express).
- ACH Transfer: Users can also make a gift using their ACH checking account. Donations of $100 or more are eligible for ACH transfer and will incur a 1% plus $1.50 flat fee in addition to the 2% platform fee. ACH fees are capped at $5.00 per transaction.
Please note that the Community Foundation of Louisville does not receive any of these fees and that 100% of donations are tax-deductible for the donor.
